Project outline

This EU funded P.O.N project was coordinated by Prof. Antonio Biraglia e Prof. Francesca Argenio. 18 students from several scondary schools in Salerno, Italy (13 from Liceo Da Procida, 2 from Liceo Da Vinci e 3 from Liceo Tasso) worked together on this project.

The aim of this project was above all to bridge the gap between the world of school and the real world of work across two nations, Italy and the UK. English was used through out to carry out group work, research and during the interviews abroad. Valentina Dodge e Bianca D`Acunto,the two external consultants, who contributed were invaluable to the success of the project.

We talked about goals and how to achieve them and we brainstormed many ideas which led us to choose different stages and in the end we divided our work into steps. This CD contains those steps, the steps that helped us get to the goal, together.

We prepared interviews, we analysed historical changes and intercultural differences, we wrote our CVs in English and we organized our work schedule.

During our UK trip we carried out the interviews and we visited job centres. We wrote up our reports and we kept daily diaries and jotted down all the unusual things we saw or heard.

When we got back we started compiling this CD and prepared a short presentation of all our activities which we held at the beginning of June 2005 in front of our head and our parents.

To the goal, Together

E' il progetto PON 1.1.C destinato alla riqualificazione del profilo formativo/professionale del cittadino/lavoratore in contesto nazionale e multiculturale in un paese dell’UE., coordinato dai docenti Prof. Antonio Biraglia e Prof.ssa Francesca Argenio.

E’ stato realizzato nel periodo novembre 2004 - giugno 2005 con la collaborazione tra gli studenti di varie scuole salernitane (13 alunni del Liceo Da Procida, 2 del Liceo Da Vinci e 3 del Liceo Tasso ).
Lo scopo del progetto é stato quello di preparare gli studenti al passaggio dall’ambiente protetto scolastico al mondo del lavoro o al mondo accademico, in un contesto internazionale. L’inglese è stata la lingua veicolare per tutte le attivitá. . Essenziale é stato il contributo degli esperti Proff. Valentina Dodge e Bianca D`Acunto.

Gli studenti hanno individuato come tema le prospettive post-diploma ed hanno focalizzato il loro interesse su alcune figure professionali: ingegneri, vigili urbani, poliziotti nel settore scientifico, disk jockey, studenti delle scuole superiori ed universitá.
Dopo un’indagine generale sul mondo del lavoro, basata su statistiche ufficiali, sono state condotte interviste dirette con rappresentanti dei profili professionali individuati, sia in Italia che all’estero.
Paese straniero prescelto è stato l’ Inghilterra, ed in particolare la contea del Devon. Torquay è stata la base organizzativa ed operativa delle attività, ma i corsisti, che sono stati ospiti di famiglie locali, hanno avuto modo di muoversi, conoscere luoghi, persone ed istituzioni anche a Londra, Exeter, Salisbury, Plymouth e dintorni., integrandosi con facilità nel tessuto sociale.

Tutto il lavoro e le esperienze sono state sintetizzate in un prodotto finale che, presentato nel mese di aprile ad un pubblico internazionale e a giugno presso il liceo “Giovanni da Procida” di Salerno, è stato valutato molto positivamente da studenti, insegnanti e da tutti coloro che hanno dimostrato interesse alla didattica del Project Work.
